I Am Humbled

Day 3 of chemo.

Well, this is no surprise, really, but any dim fantasy I entertained about breezing through this process has been quickly dispelled. Nothing too bad in the side effects department: just a general feeling of malaise and a sense that my insides are in a delicate balance that could go screwy any minute.

The major nastiness so far was a demoralizing and extended bout of acid reflux last night. I started taking some Prilosec (per my nurse's instruction), which seems to have knocked it down.

I am feeling pretty good just at the moment, so let's hope that that holds up through the evening.

Hey, dude. Hang in there. Non-profits around the country are apparently interested in picking up 'the Insur-Animals'. Don and I just turned in 3 scripts and my favorite line right now belongs to Denial Crocodile: "What in the name of Humana!?!?" Now we have to write the epic 3 part conclusion to the Insur-Animals saga...

Hey, that suxxx. I hope you are treating yourself to hot tubs and massages and finger foods.

There is a girl on my clinical floor who has leukemia and is undefeated at Memory, Clue, Slap Jack, and Go Fish.

Curtis. You have more in common with a woman in her third trimester of pregnancy than you know. I often woke up in the middle of the night choking on my own backwash. Zantac + Tums + propping up helped. Thinking of you!

I agree with Cynthia. Acid refluxxx was the most alarming side-effect of pregnancy, and I hope you're done with that shit, cuz it ain't fun.

Anyway, I'm now following along - I lurve you hardxcore (lovexcore), and ol' Lancey-poo's got nothin' on you. (also, if you start hitting on 19 year old bank tellers, I'm kicking your ass harder than chemo ever could. got it?!)
